Clik here to view.Neil Patrick Harris has had one of the stranger paths to stardom of any actor now working.
And that's a major part of why we love him.
NPH is as versatile as they come: a talented singer, dancer and actor, he's hosted awards shows and carried miniseries in addition to his regular acting gigs.
With the 38-year-old Harris co-hosting "LIVE! With Kelly" today, we figured we'd take a walk through the many rooms of his intriguing career.
Before he was NPH, and after acting alongside Whoopi Goldberg in "Clara's Heart," Neil was Doogie Howser, M.D. The show, about a 16-year-old doctor, aired 4 seasons from 1989-1993 and made Harris a star. He received Golden Globe nominations for both "Doogie Howser" and "Clara's Heart."

Following "Doogie Howser, M.D.," NPH guested in a bunch of TV shows, then tried his hand — unsuccessfully, at first — in film. His earliest roles include the little-known "Animal Room," the Dauphin in "Joan of Arc" and a part in the infamous "Starship Troopers."

The next step was sitcom "Stark Raving Mad," with Tony Shalhoub, and his first Broadway roles.
